Then I go back to the terminal and pick up another fully loaded one. Wish me luck... I'll definitely be hitting a new record for most hours worked in a row. My truck is 36 ft long BTW.

oh man.... i remember holiday season in parcel post

suddenly im knackered again

(i was loading/offloading the trucks and vans...split shift 5am till about 9 am and 4 pm till the last van got back..usually around 10pm...not great)

There is an Amazon distribution center near my house, and I drive by it every day taking my boys to school. There is simply an endless line of these gray (and unpainted white) vans all day long. The warehouse empties out onto a four-lane road with a 50 mph speed limit. Lots of close calls as the vans pull out, and a couple of accidents that I have seen. The county has placed one of those traffic counting machines, probably ahead of putting in some lights. I don’t want traffic signals. I want fewer Amazon vans. To hell with same-day delivery or 1-2 day delivery. Wait for your shit.

No way do I want to wait for my shit! I’d gladly pay more for proper driver training and benefits for the employees and all of that though . But I can’t go back to waiting 3-5 business days for packages. Even 1 day is tough sometimes and I just have to put up with buying a lower quality alternative for double the price in a store instead. The conveniences of the modern world are worth the struggles out there.
